At SC Builders, the Project Manager consistently generates positive feedback from clients, architects and other team members—and is critical to the company’s commitment to building long-term relationships.  The PM ensures that each project is completed on time and within budget by (1) managing the preconstruction and estimating process, (2) coordinating with the design team to meet each client’s needs, (3) maintaining a proactive, strategic focus on all phases of the building process, and (3) providing leadership to the various project teams and stakeholders through exceptional communication skills.  All SC Builders PMs are LEED accredited.

Primary Areas of Responsibility & Specific Tasks

  • Manage the estimating process
  • Lead the submittal process
  • Guide the RFI process
  • Work with Project Superintendent to create, help maintain, and update the master project schedule
  • Oversee all aspects of procurement
  • Conduct OAC and special coordination meetings
  • Ensure that Project Superintendent has the tools and information necessary to deliver a successful project on-time and within budget
  • Keep project within budget:
  • Control all costs
  • Work with Superintendent to clarify scope for subcontractors and track self-perform costs
  • Manage change-order process and billings

 Closeout

  • Ensure timely completion of punch-list process
  • Manage warranty and as-built drawing process by understanding client expectations and communicating deadlines to contractors and SC Builders administrative and accounting teams
  • Manage commissioning process (not every project requires this)

Other

  • Mentor and train Project Engineers
  • Oversee bid job walks
  • Develop, maintain and grow client relationships
